Since 2005, the purpose of the annual eLearning and Software for Education - eLSE conference has been the same: “promote eLearning related activities by providing a forum for exchange of ideas, presentation of technical achievements, and discussion of future directions”.

Year after year, the value of the papers presented proved that eLSE gain in professionalism and it is a useful tool both for participants that learn / communicate their presentations and for the “Carol I” National Defence University students who benefit from continuous improvement in the quality of learning.
In 2009, when eLSE reaches the 5th anniversary, the organizers’ aim is to reach a new level of quality for this event. To allow the participants to approach a wide range of topics related to eLearning educational mission the organizers, Advanced Distributed Learning Department, decided that the central topic of this year’s conference
"eLearning 2.0 and Innovative Practices with eLearning"
should be divided in three themes as follows:
- eLearning visions and theoretical contributions
- Software related developments
- eLearning educational case studies
Papers describing original work on applicable solutions in the field of educational process, theories, methodologies, and software - solutions are
invited for presentation in the conference.
Organizers consider eLSE 2009 a challenge, an opportunity to learn and to exchange experience.
